219 Lessons to Live By

I learn something new every day. Especially when working toward a personal goal—like publishing a book, for example—I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge of not only my craft, but of the world as a whole. That is where motivation, inspiration, and happiness is found.

So, I thought I would share many of the things I've learned about the world over the course of my twenty-five years on this earth in hopes of enlightening, teaching, and maybe even inspiring.

1. Do not act like you know everything unless you're ready to be proven wrong.

2. Eating as a hobby, when you're not at all hungry, to cure boredom, etc., is acceptable in small doses.

3. Learn to laugh at yourself. We're all stupid and embarrassing sometimes.

4. If there is just one person in this world that loves you for you, whether it's a parent, sibling, friend, significant other...you're one of the luckiest people in the world.

5. Be as nice as you can possibly be to everyone you know. Everyone is fighting at least one battle, and a smile can turn a day around.

6. Also, you never know if and when all that sucking up you do is going to come in handy some day.

7. You don't have to like baseball to have fun at the games.

8. You're never too old to enjoy Disney movies.

9. You will be shunned from society if you choose to use your and you're incorrectly and interchangeably.

10. Don't take time with your family for granted. Your siblings won't always live under the same roof as you, and your parents won't always be here.

12. Treasure every minute you get to sleep in on weekends/during the summer before you graduate college.
